Data deletion instructions

This page explains how to disconnect Instagram or Threads from BulletSocial and how to ask us to delete your account and data.

WHAT WE STORE

When you connect Instagram, BulletSocial stores:
- your Instagram account ID, username, and profile picture URL
- the access token Meta gives us so we can publish posts you create
- the posts, captions, media, and schedules you create in BulletSocial

When you connect Threads, BulletSocial stores:
- your Threads profile id, username, and profile picture URL
- the access token Meta gives us so we can publish posts you create

Threads permissions we use:
- threads_basic: read your Threads profile id, username, and profile picture
- threads_content_publish: publish or schedule the posts you submit to your own Threads account

If you also connect a Facebook Page, we store the Page ID, name, profile picture URL, and the Page access token.

HOW TO DISCONNECT INSTAGRAM

1. Sign in to BulletSocial.
2. Open the channel overview (Dashboard, then that channel).
3. Under Connected accounts, right-click or long-press the Instagram account and choose Disconnect Account.

This deletes the stored access token straight away, and we can no longer publish to that account.

To remove BulletSocial from Instagram, go to Instagram Settings > Website permissions > Apps and websites.
On Facebook, go to Settings & privacy > Apps and websites.

HOW TO DISCONNECT THREADS

1. Sign in to BulletSocial.
2. Open the channel overview (Dashboard, then that channel).
3. Under Connected accounts, right-click or long-press the Threads account and choose Disconnect Account.

This deletes the stored access token straight away, and we can no longer publish to that account.

HOW TO DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT AND DATA

1. Email tony@bulletsocial.com from the email address you use to sign in to BulletSocial.
2. Use the subject line "Delete my data".
3. Include your Instagram or Threads username if you know it. If you connected a Facebook Page, include the Page name too.

If you can't email from that address, put your login email in the message.

WHAT WE DELETE

We delete your BulletSocial account, your Instagram, Threads and Facebook Page details and access tokens, and all posts, captions, media and schedules you created.

HOW LONG IT TAKES

We delete this data within 30 days and email you when it is done.

If you only want to stop Instagram or Threads access, disconnect the account as above. You do not need to delete your whole BulletSocial account for that.
